Camp Meeting Threats

The micro-tonal, dark ambient, pieces of Camp Meeting Threats by Another Tuesday Dream were inspired by composer Mark Gordon Brown’s childhood experiences at Fundamentalist Christian camp meetings in the 1960s and 1970s, and the progression of ideas in these camp meetings from a somewhat rational form of Fundamentalist Christianity as it was usurped by the Charismatic Movement with its extremist apocalyptic world view. Over time what was once a pleasant experience for the composer as a child became one of dread and fear. These works explore aurally the feelings that the composer felt as a child in these camp meetings.
